MARK / GIUSTI
Laboratorio / Atelier Pelletteria
We are on Via Marcello Malpighi in Milan, just steps from Porta Venezia. Here, within twenty-eight square meters, leatherwork unfolds that evokes ancient mosaics, modern architectural profiles, and distant lands. This is the design of Mark Farhat Giusti, the Anglo-Lebanese creative director who fell in love with Italian craftsmanship and decided to establish his flagship here. The goal is to show what it means to create a unique piece—such as clutches, bags, waist packs, or backpacks—handmade directly by local artisans. Inspiration, on the other hand, comes from art and geometric forms, like those discovered on the floor of the Milanese space during renovation or from the golden decorations filling cracks in the plaster on the walls, in a fully personalized kintsugi.

Mark Farhat Giusti is an Anglo-Lebanese designer who founded his brand in London in 2009 and later decided to establish his business in Italy—to be closer to the entire production process after several years working with the major haute couture houses. His idea of luxury is expressed in products entirely handmade by carefully selected artisans near Milan, the city that welcomed him.
“Everything started from my passion for creating an exclusive product, made and crafted in Italy using environmentally friendly raw materials—the Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather. Too often, people talk about luxury and Made in Italy even when only certain parts of the product are actually made here.” The patterns in the leather, on the other hand, evoke Cosmati mosaics, travels, and memories from around the world.
“At the Basilica of San Marco in Venice, in Ravenna, Granada,” Giusti recalls. “My father was an ambassador, so we traveled a lot, and he was also an art collector who loved mosaics.” From this came his passion for geometric shapes, which become the focal point of his designs.
Each piece—whether a bag, belt bag, backpack, belt, or clutch—takes shape after careful selection of leather from the finest Tuscan tanneries, followed by transformation at the hands of local artisans, who can be seen at work during the ApritiModa days, right in the Design district near Porta Venezia.
