The name says it all. Because Cervo is not the name of a family, but the name of the narrow valley and the creek that crosses it - the Cervo Valley, the land of deers. Here, where the crystal clear and pure water of the Cervo is ideal for processing wool, a Cooperative of hatters, which since then has been making top-quality hats all by hand, was born in 1897. The manufacture sign, on the facade of a typical nineteenth-century factory, complete with sheds and chimney, is still there to remember it.

Con oltre 150 anni di storia alle spalle, il Cappellificio Cervo e Barbisio sono oggi gli unici eredi della tradizione del cappello biellese. Nel cuore della Valle Cervo, a Sagliano Micca, un piccolissimo comune disposto ai due lati del torrente, sorge lo stabilimento delle maison – una tipica fabbrica ottocentesca, con i classici capannoni industriali, macchinari originali dei primi anni del ‘900, un’alta ciminiera che svetta e una vecchia insegna che ne ricorda la storia.
