Museo del Tessile Martinelli Ginetto

Museo

In Val Gandino, in Bergamo, you can rediscover the tradition of the textile supply chain of natural fibers such as linen, wool, silk and cotton. The tradition is explored throughout approximately one thousand square meters of space, divided between cards, wooden looms, raising machines and machinery for lace and twisting inside, while original textile and dyeing plants can be found outside. At the “Martinelli Ginetto” Textile Museum, you can get a closer look at the past while studies of new technologies – like the description of the treatment and recycling of plastic bottles whereby microfibre is obtained – help to understand the present.
