Inaugurated in its new guise in June 2023, the Straw and Braid Museum is a choral project that unites the efforts of companies, donors and enthusiasts in preserving the history and processing of straw. Organized on three levels, it houses not only a vast collection of hats but represents a cross-section of Signese society and how this material, has been worked over time transforming into an important activity for the Tuscan economy. From historical videos that tell the story of the Museum through interviews to the machinery used to select straw and the seeds chosen to grow the grain destined solely for future weaving. Plus straw braids, bags, paintings, candelabra and hats of all kinds.
