Where gloves have been made by hand for more than a hundred years. It was 1923 when Gennaro Squillace founded Omega in the city once known as the capital of the glove, in the Sanità district. In Naples the welcome is given by Alberto Squillace, the fifth generation of the family's maitre gantier. A journey that starts from tanning on the slopes of Vesuvius and continues in the selection of fine leather such as plongè lamb, peccary, carpinchos and deer. Then the cutting (without waste) in the laboratory on the wooden tables which still bear the marks of the tools of a century of craft, up to the sewing of the silk and cashmere linings. There are over twenty-five steps necessary to create an artful glove according to the unit of measurement in French inches (whereby each inch is equivalent to one twelfth of a Charlemagne foot). Among the drawings for the latest models, the ongoing projects for high fashion houses or the shipments ready for Japan up to the family photographs hanging on the walls.
