Laboratorio / Atelier

In the heart of Caserta's historic center, a 13-minute walk from the marvelous Bourbon Palace. Here, inside a courtyard of an old railing building where there was once an old woodworking workshop, is the Tailor archive. A project developed over decades of experience by designer Luigi Veccia. Beyond large iron and glass windows comes alive a space in constant evolution: from gallery to creative workshop. The colors are those of the more than ten thousand books on the shelves, flanked by designer furniture and unique pieces on display. For ApritiModa, haute couture gowns with their manipulations will be shown, the textile archive and details about the archival textile books and its digital consultation will be shown.

The Tailor Srl archive was born thanks to the passion of Luigi Veccia, a fashion and accessories designer originally from Caserta, Italy, who after a long experience in the management of luxury maisons (such as Daks London) and decades of research in the fashion world, chose to share his precious treasure. A heritage of more than 10 thousand fashion books and 30 thousand magazines and a vast collection of textile samples, yarns and embroideries that transform the space into a creative laboratory for designers, stylists and fashion students. A reference point for Italian and European fashion that combines traditional craftsmanship and technological innovation. TEXTILIA MUNDI is the project that catalogs and digitizes fabrics and manuals and encourages their sharing through a platform. Hence, collaborations with important research institutes and universities. All this, always in Caserta.
