Manifattura

The building that houses the factory is a former Venetian barracks, which later became Austrian, then Italian again. In short, the history of Veneto has passed through here, starting from the times of the Serenissima up to the unity of Italy. The wool mill was born in 1861 and since then, it’s followed the complete cycle of production, from sheep to fabric. Ettore Bottoli is the fifth generation - he returned from abroad for the sake of his family's business and for the love of their land. Here, five wool mills worked at full speed; now, just a member of the Bottoli family left and labour is really difficult to find.

Born in the year of Italian Unification, led by the fifth generation of the family and a stone's throw from the historic center of Vittorio Veneto. A 14th-century mill activated by the Meschio River and a former Habsburg barracks. This is Lanificio Bottoli: from woolen blankets and cloths to the search for the finest fleece on the other side of the world, all the way to New Zealand, to make fancy jackets. Then, the desire to recover native Italian wools and continue the made-in-Veneto business with an excellent and natural product. Innovation and experimentation have never abandoned the Bottoli family, which every year offers more than 2,500 different designs for its fabrics, including with silk, cashmere linen and hemp fibers. Awarded as a model of sustainability at the European level, it still amazed with its ingenious folly: dyeing with coffee residues for a unique and completely natural color.
