Mirano, the little jewel chosen by the Venetian nobility to build their country villas. Here, among modern buildings, the Tabarrificio Veneto, Barena Venezia and CINI were born. Three companies which, strong in the tradition and passion that distinguishes their founders, tell the story of the style of their territory, the Venetian lagoon. From the selection of yarns to the design and cutting in tailoring, everything Made in Veneto, each company with its peculiarity, revives timeless garments, taking up clothes used between land and sea and bringing with them history and tradition.

Tabarrificio Veneto
Tabarrificio Veneto is a neologism coined by Sandro Zara in 1974, it is the first activity dedicated to the production of tabarro existing in Italy. A choice that comes after years of experience in the Artigiana Sartoria Veneta and for the love of a garment that was disappearing, at the time worn only by a few knife grinders and chimney sweepers who worked in the Venetian area. The use of the tabard dates back to Ancient Rome, revived in the Middle Ages by various professionals and travellers, finding new glory in the twentieth century, becoming a symbol of elegance and refinement, also worn by farmers or troops at the front, in shorter and more practical variations. Then after the Second World War, it fell into disuse. It was Zara who brought it back on stage in the 1970s for Pitti Uomo, fascinated by this flared cape made of raw cloth fabric, called tessuto italico, with a single seam and a collar. The Tabarrificio Veneto is not only the place where tabards are created but it is a heritage of know-how, custodian of years of study and research on this garment. Here the tabards are designed, cut and sewn one by one by craftsmen and tailors. With the same care, the raw material is selected, which comes directly from the Veneto hinterland or from the best Biella wool mills. Today the founder follows the creation of each tabard every step of the way, giving reason, body and soul to a work made of study, research and passion.

Barena
The "barena" is that Venetian lagoon area between the mainland and the sea. Hunters, fishermen, artists and merchants once lived in this territory and were recognized by the unique style of their clothing. Barena Venezia is the made in Italy brand (or rather, Made in Venice) that since 1993 has created garments that translate into a combination of tradition and modernity. It all originates thanks to the passion of its founder, Sandro Zara and the meeting with the designer Massimo Pigozzo in the 1980s. Through the recovery of the artisanal traditions typical of the area, and the selection of quality raw materials and archive fabrics, the Barena Men's Collection was born. It was then with the arrival of the founder's daughter, Francesca Zara, as creative director that the Barena Donna collection also arrived. They are always inspired by the magic of the territory with the Serenissima in the background, creating garments that fascinate international buyers and bring the Barena Venezia mood to the world.

CINI
Founded in the 19th century as a humble fabric production workshop, the CINI Lanificio has made a leap in sartorial quality over the years, keeping its love and respect for craftsmanship intact. In fact, towards the middle of the 20th century, the Cini family entrusted Sandro Zara, a family friend, with the task of preserving the heritage and culture of the original wool mill, thus allowing the company to translate this passion into a range of clothes with a contemporary. Made to combine Venetian inspirations with the incredible archives of fabrics, patterns and experiments, carefully preserved by the Cini family, each of these garments tells and carries with it a unique story, made of tradition and artisanal sensitivity. Today, from the perpetual union between past and present, this legacy is transmitted from generation to generation, and finds continuity in Vittorio Maria Zara, grandson of the Venetian entrepreneur.
