Prosecco DOC

Prosecco DOC

Prosecco DOC is an expression of Italian excellence born from a strictly defined territory, where tradition and climate endow the Glera grape with elegance, balance, and a contemporary touch.

The Prosecco DOC designation came to life in 2009, when grape growers, winemakers, and bottlers from nine provinces across Veneto (Treviso, Belluno, Padua, Venice, and Vicenza) and Friuli Venezia Giulia (Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste, and Udine) joined forces to forever bind this wine to its homeland.

The Consortium brings together grape growers, winemakers, and sparkling wine houses on a voluntary basis. Its mission is to grow the Designation, promote and protect it in Italy and abroad, and ensure compliance with its production regulations.

What are the numbers behind the world's most popular sparkling wine? Over 31,600 hectares of vineyards, 12,322 winegrowing estates, 1,110 winemaking companies, 350 sparkling wine houses, and 667 million bottles produced in 2025—approximately 60 million of which are Prosecco DOC Rosé. More than eight out of ten bottles (82%) are exported: people raise a glass of Prosecco DOC in over 170 countries across five continents.

The Consortium shares a special bond with art and culture, spanning the visual arts, music, performing arts, museums, cinema, and fashion. This strong network of relationships celebrates the "Italian Genius"—the tangible and intangible heritage for which Italy is renowned worldwide.

For this reason as well, Prosecco DOC is a Partner and the Official Sparkling Wine of ApritiModa. A collaboration with the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) gave rise to a creative contest that challenges young talents: first by designing the label for a limited edition of Prosecco DOC and Prosecco DOC Rosé, and later for Milano Cortina 2026, creating a pattern for a neck warmer that blended winter sports and bubbles. For the 10th edition, the challenge is to design a "Prosecco DOC Lounge" that reinterprets the Dolce Vita through a tennis-inspired lens.

Fashion, wine, sports, and design: many languages speaking for a single Italy—one that creates, inspires, and leaves its mark.
