Edition 2018
FLORENCE DISCOVERS THE FASHION ATELIERS
For two days, on the 24th and 25th March 2018, Florence opened the doors of its historic fashion houses and its extraordinary ateliers to the public for free visits. For the first time, it was possible to see what’s hidden in its palaces, in its enchanted courtyards, in the workshops where unique crafts are preserved – here, where world-renowned creations are born. The irresistible blend of beauty, eye for detail, artistic genius
and craftsmanship, which are the original ingredients of Italian Style, is one of the most powerful symbols of our country. And if fashion permeates our cities, from Milan to Rome, there is a place where its highest expression has established itself and went on to influence international scene. That city is Florence, which saw the birth of Italian fashion in the Sala Bianca of Palazzo Pitti in 1951. ApritiModa Florence has unveiled a heritage
that the city has been able to preserve over the years, to enhance it and blend it with the other symbols of its inimitable and aristocratic beauty. Florentines, tourists and lovers of beauty, on a weekend of early spring, crossed the sacred places of the city – the Lungarno, the typical Florentine borghi, the squares, the streets with names full of history, Pucci and de ‘Bardi – discovering where the Italian savoir-faire is born, prospered, preserved and where it still becomes a product today.
